TERMS & CONDITIONS
Contract: Written proposal becomes binding contract when signed by both parties. Any changes to project
are required
in writing and may possibly dictate a change in scheduling and price.
Preparation: All preparation is the
responsibility of the client unless otherwise stated in this contract.
Preparation includes but is not limited to the
removal of window treatments, works of art, other wall
fixtures, and/or valuables from the designated work area. Client
shall also have all surfaces to be painted
clear of any obstacles, such as furniture or appliances, by a minimum of 4
feet. Client understands and
accepts all risks involved in finishes that are applied over existing wallpaper. Although
every effort will be
made to insure that the substrate is stable and secure prior to finish application, no guarantees
can be made
as to long term durability and stability of finishes applied over wallpaper. On new construction, contract
specifies special circumstances/labor performed by contractor’s paint crew or materials to be provided to
paint
crew. Unless otherwise specified, walls should be primed and base coated with client’s agreed upon
choice of color
prior to any work performed.
Delays: The work area shall be ready (all prep work completed) by the scheduled
start time. Notification
of any delays must be made least 48 hours prior to start date, otherwise a penalty of $100 per
day shall be
added. The artist accepts no responsibility for the workmanship or timeliness of others. Delays that are
extended beyond 24 hours of start date may result in a loss of blocked days. If this occurs, we cannot
guarantee an
immediate rescheduling due to workload.
Finishes: All finishes are handmade and are thus subject to natural
anomalies. Samples are representative
of final finish. Variances in work area conditions (i.e., humidity, temperature,
surface characteristics, etc.)
will determine the final finish. These asymmetries are special to hand produced finishes
and are what make
your finish beautiful and unique.
Fees and Deposits: In order to reserve time on Faux
Finis’ calendar, a deposit is required, half of
which is nonrefundable.
For this deposit, Faux
Finis guarantees agreed upon start date and will begin
custom sample boards, up to 4, per work area. If additional
samples are requested, a fee of $20-40
(depending upon material costs) for each additional sample is required.
Samples
requested before a deposit is made are priced as follows: a $300 sample deposit is required, of which full $300 will be credited
back
to the job when contracted. This deposit is nonrefundable if no work is commissioned.
Faux Finis retains
ownership of all samples. In the event of cancellation or breach by the client, Faux Finis shall retain
ownership
of all rights of copyright, original artwork, and other preliminary materials.
Pricing: All pricing is representative
of the time, energy, and materials a handmade finish requires. As
such, they are not negotiable. Any changes to original
finish selection after work begins may require
change order and additional charges.
Acknowledgment: On
any contribution for magazine or book use, Faux Finis shall receive name
credit in print.
Payment:
Remaining balance is due upon job/individual room completion. A monthly late charge of 3%
of the remaining balance will
be billed for each month payment is late. The client assumes responsibility
for all collection and legal fees necessitated
by default in payment
